Could I get my admittance revoked?

This might sound really paranoid, but I was recently admitted Early Action into NEU's nursing program; in addition, I was lucky enough to get into the honors program with a $20k scholarship. Sounds good, right?

Unfortunately, the first quarter of my senior year, I recieved a C+ in Ap Calculus. This upcoming quarter, I'm expecting around the same. Could this harm me? The midterm for the class is notoriously difficult (I'm terrible at math.)

On the other hand, I've maintained As in all my other classes (also APs); my average without Calc calculated in is a 96-97. With it in, I'm down to a 92.

Could Northeastern revoke my admittance/reduce my scholarships/honors program because of this? Should I contact an admissions counselor to explain the circumstances, or assume that they'll understand because it's an AP course? Will dropping the course harm me?

Thanks in advance for any advice, CC.

Yes. You obviously fail miserably in calculus, or simply do not try. Thus, you are a failure, and will most likely fail in college. Have a nice life.

PS you’re not funny. And you’re a borange.

I think you should maybe call or ask your guidance counselor about it. Personally, I would drop the course but that might harm you - my best advice is to ask someone from the school.

I got a D in physics my senior year. And it was only because my teacher didn’t fail seniors! Phew. He also apologized that I hated physics so much, to which I replied “oh, no I don’t hate physics, I just decided to stop doing work this semester.” So, needless to say, once I was admitted early action, I really dropped the ball on school.

Nothing happened. NU didn’t care. This happens to a lot of kids. I think you’d need to seriously eff up to get revoked. I mean. Don’t fail anything. Don’t do extremely poorly in all your classes (meaning, don’t get all Ds and Cs). Don’t forget to actually graduate high school. Don’t get arrested. Otherwise you’ll probably be fine.

emily, thanks for clarifying. were you offered any scholarship money and do you think this has the potential to be revoked if grades drop slightly? some people say that could be possible, although the info i got with the scholarship simply said that my college GPA had to remain above 3.0. i might get 2-3 C’s this quarter rest of my grades are A/B and i’m in 2 AP classes, and an extra class (no study).

It CAN happen and it has happen. But in your scenario, I doubt your admittance will get revoked because of that one grade. You gotta really drop the ball to become revoked.

I’m literally in the same situation as you. 20k/yr, Honors… And a C+ in calc with As in the rest of my classes. I’m sort of nervous cuz of it.
