Could not taking this AP test get my application(s) rescinded?

I was planning to self study and take the AP US Government and Politics exam but I have a feeling that I won’t get a high enough score (4/5) to earn college credit. My counselor told the colleges that I was applying to that I was planning on self studying for this exam when he sent out the mid-year report.

Earlier this week, juniors and seniors at my school received a form in which they have to list what AP tests they want to take so that the school can order them. If I don’t take the government and politics test, will my application be rescinded? Or do admissions officials not care?

It won’t matter one bit.

Thank you for your response @NorthernMom61

Can anybody else second her response?

It won’t matter at all.

Colleges care about the classes you are taking, not self studying. They don’t take AP scores into account in admissions because they are scored after you are admitted. Do not worry one bit.

Your classes are the most important thing to worry about not…but if you have self studies, there is no downside (other than the cost of the AP test) to taking the AP test and not doing well. If you think you have some chance of doing well then go ahead and take it.

It doesn’t matter.

Yeah AP scores, especially in senior year, are the least important thing for admissions. AP’s only matter for your grades in the class.

Second, third, fourth, and fifth. In addition, here’s another thing colleges won’t care about:
