Could someone break down the GRE for me

I've done a little bit of research on the GRE, wiki articles and some other outside sources.

I just was looking for somone to breakdown the GRE a little more indepth.

For example is there grammar questions and things like that?

The GRE is a back up but it really looks like I am being tested on all of my weak points, English...

If I do end up taking this what are some ways I can get help with writing and english outside of a college course? I feel like a GRE prep course would not be enough to help my terrible english skills.

Got most of my questions answered. Now the question is most of what are some ways I can get help.

Read a lot.

Depending on how much time you have read as much as you can, preferably college level and above documents, essays and such that have a strong vocabulary in them. The English section is just memorization. Spend the money for a packet of GRE words, memorize the hell out of them and you’ll do great.

oh okay so the grammar questions wont be too intense?

There are not direct grammar questions actually. Obviously, especially in the Analytical Writing part, if you do grammar mistakes, your grade goes down.
I’m studying for the GRE as well right now and what I would suggest is to give a look at the GRE ETS website. There’s some information, plus some free resources and some practice tests. Then I’ve bought those GRE flashcards to memorize all those commonly used words on GRE.
Hope this helps!
