A (one, uno) typo on a Penn short answer (why i like my professor wrote "perspectives" instead of "perspective" it did NOT alter meaning of essay whatsoever)

Failure to list college grades (I went to an art institute this summer and said that i did so on the commonapp; i sent in a transcript to the colleges but did not write my grades or wtvr on the app, anyhoo, the program is pretty much pass/fail)

Failure to put down an academic award in common app area for this(it's mentioned in my attached resume thingy)

Calm down. Small errors will not get you rejected. The “perspectives” thing is no big deal, the failure to list grades is fine if you sent the transcript, and as long as that award is listed somewhere you’re fine. Chill out :)

I know exactly how you feel. Take a deep breath and calm down, the answer is no to all three.

I know in my Duke essay’s I made several mistakes to give you an example. I pasted the wrong extra-curricular essay on the common app. It had several errors. I made other errors as well.

What Im saying is, now that you have turned in your app, you are going to find errors, very minute errors and its going to get at you. Keep in mind that in no ways would those things get you rejected. It was actually a good decision to leave out redundant awards and the transcript grades. So I wouldn’t worry at all.

I have two typos on my app. A spelling typo in the Activities section of the CommonApp and a tense error in my Yale supplement essay. I freaked over this for a few days but then became more calm about it. Human makes mistakes. Adcoms knows you are human.

um.. those mistakes won’t get you rejected, but this obsession and paranoia that you display in your actions, if somehow projected into your application, definitely will get you rejected.

haha to newb so true and i guess it’s just so surreal. they’re in, and i’m still in disbelief. best of luck to all and fingers crossed for april!!!
