could you kindly chance me

I go to one of the, if not the best, public schools in California. This site makes me very nervous, but here I go anyway:

UW GPA: 3.5
W GPA: school district doesn't weight, but I think it's ~3.8
School doesn't rank
SAT I: 2020 (700 writing, 680 math, 640 reading)
SAT II: US History 800, Lit 640
APs: Euro 5, US 5, French, English, Stat (taking these three in upcoming year)
Also took honors English and honors French

EC:
I've been a Girl Scout since first grade. I've received the bronze and silver awards and am wrapping up the final paperwork to receive my gold award.
I did two years of jv swimming. (i'm a horrible horrible athlete)
I'm a member of the school's French club and of JSA (Junior Statesmen of America). I've won regional awards for the French National Contest for the past three years. I've also attended a JSA convention.
I lifeguard at a local swimclub. I put in ~20 hours a week.

Potential majors: Film, creative writing, history. I love film, it's my passion. But I realize it's a competitive field and would like to have something to fall back on.

Schools:
Bard
UC Santa Cruz
Emerson
Evergreen State
Hampshire
Marlboro
NYU
Oberlin
Sarah Lawrence
Vassar

I'm not too hot on most of California's colleges mainly because I've lived here my whole life. It's a great place to live, but I want to be able to get out and experience somewhere/something else!

I totally agree with you about wanting to get out of California! I have lived here my whole life too.
Anyways, your AP’s are good, but your SAT scores are a bit low. You don’t have many EC’s either. Based on your stats, I think most of the schools you listed are matches except NYU and Vassar. Those are both reaches in my opinion.

^ I agree with the above post however I would say that getting into NYU would fall under a “Low Reach/High Match” type. Not as hard to get into (for you) as the previous poster stated.

Good luck

GPA and courseload isn’t too bad. You might want to improve your SAT I score just a little bit, but it’s still not too bad, pretty decent. You should, however, improve your SAT II Lit. score. EC’s are pretty good too. I think most of the schools you listed should be perfect for you!
Chance me please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/974360-chance-uc-colleges-special-case.html#post1065374697

Thanks for the input! I’m not sure if I will retake the reasoning test just because I am a very bad tester and was relatively proud of those scores (though a little disappointed with the reading).
