Could you please help out with a stressed out senior's fears?

Ahhhhh
I called anyway!

The lady sounded a little tired to hear my question. I hope I didn’t make things worse. She said that I could send in another essay or whatever to add to my file.

Oh well. All I can do is just cross my fingers and pray for the best.

Hey soyamoo - I work in admissions (and worked there over break, although I am home at the moment), so hopefully I can appease some of your fears. :)

Two things: one, they’re probably just stressed from a lot of last-minute apps, and calling definitely won’t make things worse by any means. Everyone who works there is very nice and if it was who I think it was (I have the schedule) then she was probably just a little stressed, don’t worry at all. It won’t hurt you.

Second, you can definitely send in an extra essay and it will be indexed to your file and looked over when they’re reviewing your application.

I wouldn’t worry about the interview - it counts for very little. I’m a little surprised that an interviewer would be that rude/unfocused, but I don’t think it matters. If it’s really bugging you, you can certainly call (I’d wait til January; term starts January 3), but seriously - it won’t hurt you.

I think I’ll just sit tight and wait for the admissions decision to come. For the additional essay, can it be one that I wrote for a different school? It just reveals some of my interests/hobbies etc etc. I’d be delighted to write another “Why Carleton” essay, but I think that’s overkill.
