<p>I gave her our school's form for a rec and she got the common app invite over a month ago. I was told the counselors needed a month to get it done, but it has been past a month. I emailed her 10 days ago asking if she could get it done by Jan 1, and she said "Yes!" so I'm assuming she is confident she can get it done. But she has SO many students and only 10 days left. Has anyone else experienced this? </p>
<p>I don't like to bother her too much because I have done that in the past and she seemed annoyed by it :l</p>
<p>My friend’s counselor is doing this exact same thing with her transcripts, and she has missed all of the EA deadlines because of it! She is applying to 16 schools (yes, I know) and none have gotten what they need! She even forwarded an email from an admissions counselor asking for the transcripts, and he emailed THE STUDENT her own transcripts. </p>
<p>But I would suggest either talking to someone a little over her head, or just waiting it out, and if she doesn’t do it, wait for the admissions counselors to ask and then reply with your HS counselor’s email address so they can go through her.</p>
<p>Yeah, I applied to UMiami Early Action and the only thing missing is her rec. I don’t think they’ve emailed her anything about it and they haven’t emailed me so idk if they have deferred me to Regular Admission because of it. I don’t mind being deferred to Regular Admission, but if she doesn’t have it done for the Regular Admission deadline isn’t it a major problem?</p>
<p>It could be a problem, it just depends how set they are on their deadlines. Since UMiami is a large school, they may be more strict on their deadlines. Explain the situation to your admissions counselor and see what they say!</p>
<p>Well I had my brother, who goes to UM, talk to an admissions counselor of my situation and he said to give it a shot and have the counselor do the rec asap. However, that was back in November. I guess I will send an email telling them my apologies and that hopefully it will be done soon :l</p>
<p>Yeah that’s the best thing I could think of. And just really hound your counselor to get that rec done. Who cares if she’s annoyed? It’s her job
