Countdown to 2013 Decisions!

@MBVloveless, I liked Andover because I have a strong interest for World Languages and a passion for Theater and Community Service. Andover has excellent departments for those three things

@baseball35, it is weird that our usernames are very similar…I would like to note that what you posted happens at a lot of prestigious bs. Most don’t post it in their magazine.

Uhh, I wasn’t thinking of March 10 until I saw this thread.
Aren’t you all busy with school work?

i’m so nervous! i applied to choate, andover, exeter, hotchkiss, taft, lawrenceville, groton, middlesex, and saint paul’s as a sophmore :(

23 more days!!! Anybody heard from Andover, or Hotchkiss?

I wish I did! To pose a question of my own: Did anybody hear from Choate, Hotchkiss, Andover, or Taft? C:

GoldenRatio, did you get letters confirming your application? I haven’t yet even though the online systems say they have everything.

Has anyone’s application been confirmed by Andover? What about NMH?

I received a postcard from Andover telling me my application was complete

@Silverstag: I got a postcard from Andover, like confusedonhades. However, since no other school would notify me, I took it upon myself and trolled them  Maybe I didn’t go that far, but it was far enough that I got answers!

Moreover, Choate has GoChoate!, which has a checklist of items needed. I checked over there to see if my file was complete or not.

Besides, if any of the schools are missing any information, they’d probably contact you.

I remember a case on CollegeConfidential last year where an applicant to Andover was put on the “late applicants” pile WITHOUT HIM/HER KNOWING because the school was missing his Teachers’ Recommendations but didn’t tell him. He only found out about it after receiving no admission/rejection letter from Andover on March 10.

If you don’t mind me asking, when did you submit the application, and when did you get the postcard?

I submitted my application late, late, late January (since applying to Andover was a last-minute decision); I just recently got the postcard.

I know less than 30 days isn’t very long, but I’m dying. All I can do is scroll through these forums

I submitted my application in December and received my postcard on Saturday.

Hi guys, I’m an international applicant from Indonesia, so I assume its normal for me to not receive a postcard. However, I did call all prospective schools (Andover, Choate, and Hotchkiss) to check if my application has been handed over/processed by the admission team.

They should email you if something is missing. Andover shot me an email last night.

I’ve spent the day ill, which means looking up quotes  Here are some apt ones:

“It was amazing how you could get so far from where you’d planned, and yet find it was exactly where you needed to be.”

“If you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all.”

“Think what worrying does: has anyone ever added a single hour to the length of his life by worrying about it?”

“I believe good things happen every day. I believe good things happen even when bad things happen. And I believe on a happy day like today, we can still feel a little sad. And that’s life, isn’t it?” Whatever the outcome on March 9th!

this might sound kind of silly but are the results coming via email or post? thank you

^Depends on the school. I think there’s a thread somewhere specifically discussing each school’s way of doing it :)
