Countdown to Acceptance Letters

I meant to say " to god" sorry about that

(completely changing the subject) I think that for the absurd chances threads (with people saying their teachers love them, they have a 99 on SSAT, straight A+'s in all honors classes, but they still think they have no chance what so ever) rather than just posting "yea you'll get in" or "are you absurd! obviously", we should boycott them. Just don't respond and all and then other people thinking about posting chance threads may not do it if they don't think they will get a response.

so whose with me:
LETS BOYCOTT THE ABSURD CHANCE THREADS!

I agree. Boycott chances!! Respond to threads only when the poster is being modest, realistic, or genuinely concerned. The chancing threads can really scare newbs and frighten applicants.

Look at what we did to the kid called MIDDLESEX. He is a great applicant but he is feeling very disappointed an concerned with his application. All these 99ers can really lower one's spirit and enthusiasm!

Haha yeah, us 99ers do that. NOT. SSATs are dumb. Ignore them. Good scores, yay, bad scores, whatever.

I've heard the flying spaghetti monster argument, haha, most recently on South Park. Can you believe I (#1 in my class, apparently, according to my friend's deductions and grade comparisons) stoop to watch south Park?
Lurve it.

heehee. have you noticed that almost all the 99ers are like ..
test scores don't matter! focus on your essays/ECs/recs etc..

and the people who get like. anything under 99 because oh god, that would TOTALLY kill your chances for admission panic over their scores? (okay this probably only applies to 85 unders, but you know :D)
hahaa, my guilty TV pleasure is Gossip Girl. >)
before boarding school, i wanted to go to a NYC day school like Blair's.. but considering I live in Canada, i guess boarding school is a heck of alot more realistic :)

Haha I've never watched or read Gossip Girl. Harry Potter was the crux of my fantasies, like, all the way. <3

27 days!

haha yesss diveAlive...Gossip Girl all the way lol. it is my guilty pleasure <3

Harry Potter, i love rereading them hehe. (:

Bwaaaah harry potter.

I am totally obsessed with fantasy stories like harry potter, the inheritance cycle, the gemma doyle trilogy, the ink trilogy, all sorts of vampire books, the artemis fowl series everything really and I'm also in love with books about rich overprivileged people aka gossip girl, private series, it girl series, etc. i have no idea why its kinda ridiculous really. My dad is always like "haven't you outgrown this phase yet, how much longer are you going to spend all your time and my money buying and reading these books." and I'm like "never dad, never". lol

I've gotten so desperate now I am researching time travel and came across this article:Professor Predicts Human Time Travel This Century

lol im really getting desperate...

soso: READ TAMORA PIERCE. You will LOVE her. I, personally, read the Protector of the Small series before Alanna (Song of the Lioness), but Alanna comes first.

I love Tamora Pierce! My favorite were the series about Daine. I also like the two Trickster's books. Has anyone read Heart of Darkness?

I've only read the first Daine book, because I bought it with Christmas money. :D The library here is severely lacking in Pierce-y goodness.

@ soso:
omigosh! i love the Private series, too! it's at boarding school.. so unrealistic, because they have like, no homework whatsoever, but .. xD
fun to read! (and yes, i enjoy books about over-privileged teens, too!)

i love A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks! I'm re-reading it right now. :)

What's the ONE thing you are most excited about for boarding school?
And I don't mean the opportunities, or some other tripe you throw at parents or admissions officers to sound "mature" (no matter how much you believe it).
I mean silly stuff like roommates, or eating in a dining hall that looks like Hogwarts, or goofy school traditions, or getting a laptop. Silly, vain, and superficial!

god... I don't think I can wait much longer... I may go insane... ahhhhh...!!@!@!@

Don't worry, benevolent, I don't believe you'd be the first!

saer: the thing i am looking forward the most is the people. coming from a overly-*****y millionaire town in new jersey (HELLO. Bruce Springstein is a neighbor and my childhood frenemy's dad was in Bon Jovi). i want to meet people that are smart and accept people for who they are, not who there families are. plus, late night cramming with roomates or sneaking out of dorms sounds fun to :)

we should all eat pumpkin pies.

haha. random thought.

Does anyone have like something they do for good luck in admissions? Like a special letter opener or something?

i think we should all take a victory lap around the block, house, town. like LEGIT victory lap. screaming. and crying. and screaming more.
