Never fall for anything on CC. Srsly. When EA UChicago decisions came up, and someone posted the thread "Decisions are up", I read five posts first to ensure he wasn't kidding. It happens frequently on the SAT board, too.

After you interview, it is BEYOND YOUR CONTROL! I did the same thing as I awaited my fate from Yale, live your lives, enjoy yourselves, stop worrying about your decision! I know easier said than done, but do your best.

it's not beyond our control after the interview. we all live in our own heads and we are the ones who create the world around us. after all, how could a sports team, who was going to lose that day, win just because i turned on the television to watch them? if i am involved in freaking out about the decisions, perhaps my own chances will increase, since i have created this world.

Reality is observer dependent, that's true.............but not in the way you're saying.

You aren't influencing your Yale decision by willing it......You have to do something concrete after the interview to increase your chances (rec letter from a prof, something meriting a supplement, etc).

If everyone believed guns were ineffective at delivering violence, then no one would try to use them for that. Then no one would buy and have them about. How many people do you know with antigravity or perpetual motion devices?

Thus, in a sense, that girl was correct.

That being said, I wouldn't bet my life on someone else's belief. LOL

35 days, and I am suddenly so addicted to cc... Does anyone else get scared that the adcoms are surfing cc and rejecting everyone who has over 50 posts? ;-)

And guess what? you'll all be getting your decisions at 5pm. Mine won't get in until 12pm :(

^ If CC shared user information (violating their own TOS) with adcoms, or if Facebook violated it's TOS (it can archive user actives for sale to third parties, like when you rate advertisements), by selling personal identifiers to third parties (possibly adcoms), the lawsuits that followed would be....immense.

You have to remember - this is the country where a lady that spilled hot coffee on her hands was able to hold McDonald's liable.....just think of the legal p4wnage that would happen to CollegeConfidential Inc.

Internationals are notified later? Dude...that blows.

On the other hand.....You live in Switzerland. I went to Berne and Zermatt once...I regret leaving.

collegehopefull.... yeah, except my username is just about the same as my e-mail address ;-) ah well... (should I not have said that? ;-) can I edit it out, later? ;-) ) "paranoid"

we're not notified later, it's just the time-zone :( so I'll be dead, in more ways than one, the next day ;-)

Ah, Zermatt is beautiful... I have a coupon to go hanggliding there :)

Silly me...I didn't bother thinking about the time difference.

Nah....Adcoms have enough work to do rooting through apps...If they ever did go about slyly gathering additional information, it would either have to be superficial and massive (facebook data mining), or hyper focused on a borderline candidate late in the game.

That's awesome....I've never been hang gliding...but I really want to. That, and parachuting.

collegehopefull, are you aware that there was previously a CC poster named college_hopefull? She appears under the Stats Profile for U.Va. 2012. I don't begrudge you borrowing her username, but what are the odds that neither of you could spell "hopeful?" :)
