Countdown to March 10th!

I hope someone starts a thread like the one from last year.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/1098902-official-master-list-2011-acceptances.html</a></p>

It was cool to see how various people’s BS application sagas turned out. Some highs and some lows, for sure…but always some comfort in knowing others were going through the same thing.

Note that the formatting sort of devolved over the life of the thread. IMO, it was a bit ambitious to think that everyone might HTML code their additions…I think the end result was totally acceptable/readable.

SevenDad: I’m almost positive that there will be a thread like that this year. The question is whether or not people will actually post their decisions. I know a few people were already saying that if they are rejected at all of their schools, they won’t be posting on any of the decision threads…

BUMP!..

15 DAYS LEFT! :D

Hey guys! We’re having so much “fun” waiting…

Oh darn. Two weeks.

Bump! And omgomgomgomg, TWO WEEKS.

-.-" I’ll be in school on that Saturday, so I have to go through yucky classes and find a computer to check my decisions on in a library… hopefully I won’t start screaming like a maniac (in pain or happiness) xD

^ School? On a Saturday?!?! Oh my! Haha :D

School on a ‘Saturday’ happens all the time in boarding schools. And many kids study on Sundays, in addition to the mandatory study hours on sunday evenings at most schools.

Andover abolished Saturday classes I think

Hmm, I’m pretty sure they still have Saturday classes. But what do people in B.S. usually do on weekends? I asked my tour guides a few times, but they did’n’t really give a specific answer.

Smoke weeds.

The drug thing is totally overdone. Yes, there will be alcoholics and stoners, but they don’t make up the entire student population. Please do your research.

98beebee: I’m almost certain EnemyoftheSun said that “tongue in cheek”. He/she was definitely being facetious haha.

As for your question regarding the weekends, I’m pretty sure that there are activities, trips, etc., put in place for boarders. And if not, you’ll just be doing your homework on the weekends… haha jk

M10 is officially next week :)

Although it may sound cliche, if I get into any of these schools, my life will officially change. My current school is nowhere near that of a prep school… In fact, it’s a border-line, continuation school (it’s not officially labeled as one, but many students come here if they get kicked out of the previous school). Boarding schools tend to seem much more progressive and open-minded, and that’s really what I need at this point in my educational career. I’ve tried so many different things (I’ve been to a Montessori school, one “pressure-cooker” public school, and a border-line continuation, charter school), I feel like this may finally be a fit. And if not, it’s another great experience, that most will never get the opportunity to have. :)

Good luck, everyone! I hope all of your deepest wishes are granted! :)

Who cares if we’re not accepted. We will all die on 12 Dec anyway.

Very optimistic… ;)

Lolol we’ll see about that. And my tour guide was like, “No one takes Saturday classes seriously. We have them like once a semester…”

I hope she’s right.

Don’t worry guys, I’m falling on the pessimistic side as well.

@98beebee: It’s because we have cookies, so it’s understandable.

I’m totally sucked into the dark side. Next week is either going to be unbearably hard or unbelievably happy.
