Well just a few more hours until midnight!
Good luck everyone. :)

SC is my fallback/safety school and it's the last school I hear from (and I was rejected from everywhere else I applied to). It's the most nervous I've ever been in my life. I've been puking and shaking for the last few hours waiting.

i really hope i get into UC Santa Cruz. I applied to 4 UC's and i really hope i get into at least one, but all these ppl with their AP classes and stuff is making me nervous. whats the acceptance rate for UC Santa cruz? what will happen if i get rejected by them all? will i be able to go to a UC that still has room? like merced or riverside? omg im so scared. ='[

riverside is still accepting applications. So if you don't get in, go with Riverside. That is my Fall back plan :D (since I got into Riverside)

What does everyone's application status say?

I clicked on View Application Status and it just says:

"Application Status
_______________"
^and my name...
and it's just a big blank page...? Anyone else got this? Or something else?

Click on Application Status, then View Application Status and a message about how they recieved your application will appear. This should change to acceptance/rejectance by midnight hopefully.

And yes - if you're UC eligible, you will get into Riverside or Merced (if you do the apply/appeal process).

wow, i am supper nervous. I pray i get in, ucsc is my top choice!

Hey everyone don't blow this all out of proportion. Every single UC has an articulation agreement with community colleges that are a great option. Rather then settling for a school that you don't want to attend I strongly encourage you to look into these programs. You can live right near the campuses of many of the UC's and for some even take some classes there. Look into these programs before you let yourself get too down. Good luck!

Cal Poly has Cuesta
UC Davis has Los Rios through Sac City College
UCSB has SBCC
every sinlgle UC has one of these programs.

Collegemom-

Thanks for the heads up. I would just say if you can get into a UC period, you should go to it even if you have your eyes on Cal or UCLA. Any UC is better than community college by a large margin, and it is quite possible to transfer from a UC to a higher UC if you keep up a high GPA. Personally, I'd rather be in somewhere that I can feel good about (ie 4 year college). I did a lot of considering of the community college route but now that all these budget problems are occuring, this guaranteed system may not be around for very much longer considering the admission problems this year.

If you guys don't get into a UC you will have to go to.....Community College.....GASP!!! Seriously though, whether or not you attend community college is a personal choice. Sure community college sucks compared to a four year university, but there are a lot of benefits to CC as well. Out of high school I wouldn't have got into any UC, now I feel like I have a solid shot at Cal. Ok enough from me, good luck guys!!

ok, less then 4 hours now. i heard last year their server crashed because everybody tried to log on at the same time XD

Cali Trumpet I promise none of our community colleges are going to be disappearing any time soon. I'm glad to hear that you have thought this through and have a plan. It is always important when you feel down with a situation to begin to explore what your options are. Even if you don't get into a single school you applied to you still have plenty of options. Another great thing about the community college route is that it saves you a great deal of money. Good luck everyone. :)

Trust me, server didn't crash last year. My web connection crashed and I had to "borrow" my next door neighbor's net but I could get in fine -- good luck!!!!!

p.s. agree with collegemom. You gotta go with your heart, with your soul. It's 4 years you can't get back. My mom says it's not where you start that goes on your transcript, it's where you graduate that does, and that's all that counts.

Oh, ok. the faculty from UCSC that came to my school last fall told us that their server crashed on March 1st or something when the decisions weren't up yet.

Anyway, the clock on my laptop is slow by an hour so it's actually less than 3 hours~

My application status just changed from that message to a page that just says my name on it. Has this happened to anyone else?

yea im tripping out oo haha omgosh >.<

I did not mean any harm by the community college route.

For a long time I was considering it. I planned to go there if I did not get into a UC. Community college is a great idea if you are self motivated and will be able to work hard enough to be able to transfer. My main point was that if you screw off community college, you've got nothing. At least getting C's at a lower UC will have you graduating from a top 100 school in the nation. Its more of a safety net.

My other point is that it is not as hard to transfer from a UC to another UC as people make it out to be. My brother for instance went to UCSC, did well, and was admitted to Cal ucla and ucsd. As long as you are getting mostly A's at your UC, you are still high priority for transfer. Priority goes as follows Community College > Other UCs > 4 year colleges.

Ultimately there are other factors. Money of course is one. I have no intention on badmouthing community colleges, as I really am happy that they are there. I know friends who could have gotten into any UC minus UCLA and Cal but because they wanted to go to Cal, they took the community college route.

As BeatChick said, you need to follow your heart, as there is no right or wrong answer. Good luck with the UC's.

Yeah I get the no message, message too Sidra. :)

Maybe it's a message written in white ink. Have you tried hi-lighting it?

Haha I tried to highlight it and copy it to word. Nothing. I know, I am wasting my time. :) Anyone have this/not have this? I wonder if this means we'll know tonight.
