Countdown to the October 2012 SAT Results

It's almost upon us. The Oct. 6th SAT scores will be released around 5AM EST this Thursday (10/25). For convenience, I've set up a countdown clock:

http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20121025T05&p0=263&msg=October+2012+SAT+Scores&csz=1

This thread is for all those who want to rant about any part of the October test. Is it your last chance to get a 2300+ before early apps? Are you a first-time taker just looking to gauge your current abilities? Post away!

Good luck, everyone.

First!!!

You make threads really early.

Hoping for a 700 on math, although it’s basically impossible with how many I got wrong. /rant

An earlier thread means more riveting discussion! Haha

I hope you reach your goal score. Will you be retaking in November regardless (I saw your other thread)?

I can’t wait. really curious to know my score.
But still 59 hours = 3540 minutes = 212400 seconds
whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy I have to wait

If I managed to increase my score by about 100 points, I will be very happy. fingers crossed
I’m a senior, so unless I did worse than last time, this is my last SAT.

really hoping for a 2k…really don’t want to take it again in december

I will be satisfied if I got 2050+

@StudiousMaximus, Yes I’ll be taking it either way. In november I’m hoping to up my CR score to near/above 700 and break 700 in writing as well. After that I’ll see where I’m at and probably take it one more time lol.

Thanks for starting the thread; I’m getting more and more anxious by the day.
This was my first time taking it. I’m an international student, and English is my third language. However, I decided to break from my initial I’m-an-international-student-so-feel-bad-for-me mentality and studied my butt off lol – hopefully it’ll pay off.

I’m reluctant to project a score; I’m normally not a superstitious person, but for some odd reason I’m scared I would jinx it lol. All I know is that thus far, according to discussions here anyway, my Math is -0, Writing might be -2 (depending on the “energy expended” and the “Carrier’s device…” questions), and Critical Reading almost certainly -2 (put “subversive” instead of “superfluous”, and “muddied” instead “stuck”). Should be interesting :)

I’m a little worried about my Essay example’s relevancy: I had the “should we care about people from other countries?” assignment. I filled the two pages and I think it was very well written, but I had to “bend” the question to use examples I studied well. I defined this act of caring as a selfless act in essence, and used Rosa Parks as an example of a selfless woman that put herself in a difficult situation for the sake of the black community worldwide. I acknowledged that even though she her acts were in her own country, it was a selfless act, which is the core of whether we should care for other people in other countries or not, that helped Americans and other nations in the world. My second example was about Bill Gates’ philanthropic donations in Africa and their benefits, and I tied that with the theme of altruism in my essay. I hope this wasn’t too far-fetched.

@StudiousMaximus: You should also answer your questions! What are your expectations?

Good luck everybody!

aiming for a 2100 at least got. 3rd time taking it. last time i got a 2060. hoping for 1400 CR + M, got 1380 last time.

@DaveMerc: I’m sure you’ll be fine with that example. Though it may be a bit of a stretch, the readers will likely not penalize you for it. From the discussion threads, I’m looking at -0 Math, -1 Writing, and -1 Critical Reading. If I do get the big 2.4k, I’ll be elated, but I’d be satisfied with anything above 2350.

Aiming for a 750+ on the bio subject test, and anything besides an epic fail for physics. I’m so nervous! There’s no way i’ll be able to sleep soundly wednesday night.

I need this thread… haha

Hoping for 800 on Math II. I left 2 blank and am pretty sure I only missed 2 others.

@StudiousMaximux: Hope you get that 2400!

My greatest fear in MC tests is that I bubble in the wrong letter or forget to bubble in altogether. After my SAT, I almost had a panic attack thinking that I didn’t bubble in the answers for last page of the Writing section (Pretty sure those are 9 questions). I didn’t have any reason to think that I forgot to (I fill in page by page, and review the answer sheet last 1-2 minutes.) I simply of that possibility and freaked out lol

^ I also fear that! Luckily the proctor usually would say something when they collect it, although they wouldn’t let you take it back.(at my school, anyway)

Last chance to get a 2300+ before early action apps are due. There’s always December if I don’t reach my goal but I’d be too nervous to concentrate so it’s basically now or never

I recently took the PSAT and did quite well
Good luck to you all, hope you get the scores you wanted!

REALLY hoping for a 2200+. I’m afraid I hit my ceiling with my last score (2140 in November last year) and this is my last SAT ever! I felt really confident walking out but now I’m doubting myself and having dreams that my CR score dropped to 390… :(

really wanted 2250+ but this is my first time taking it and im hoping for 2100+ eeeeeeeeeeehhh

Btw, what are you guys doing to keep yourselves occupied? I’m going crazy!!
