Couple of Questions for FASFA

So all of last year I’ve lived with my mom (parents are divorced), but this upcoming weekend I’ll be moving in with my dad and staying with him until I graduate/get a job, etc. I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this question already, but when I fill out the FASFA I still have to put down my mother’s information am I right? Since I lived with her all of 2015?

Is there a way I can import her information? We’re not on speaking terms, if I NEED to talk to her, I will. But I’d like to avoid it if possible. I can’t use estimates from the info from last year because she was on disability for the last 3-4 months of the year which dramatically changed the income.

On the day you file FAFSA, you need to look at which parent you lived with most during the immediately preceding 365 days/nights. That’s the parent whose information you use on FAFSA.

BelknapPoint so that would be my mother. Is there a way to file the FASFA without contacting her or no?

Not that I know of.

You have to contract her. Ask you mom if she agrees to provide information for your FAFSA. Also, you need your mom to sign it too.
