I have taken 12 unit semesters, a 16 unit semester, a 12 unit summer--and at the same time, I had an 11 unit semester once (because of my W). I think they want to see a prominence of full-time semesters, but at the same time, there is nothing wrong with someone who goes to school part-time and takes longer to reach their transfer goal.

TIA? It opens January 9, February 15 is the deadline. And Berkeley's update forms seem to all be available right now, while possibly not all available till JAnuary 10.

were you doing school part time because you were working? If you have a good reason for only having time for a light course load and you mention it in application that will help.

Jess: Yes, I am interning / working at a law firm, although I did not mention this in my application. Where would I have done this? Would I explain my light course load under the "gaps" section?

I am going to be taking 6 units in the Spring because I need to commute back and forth between LA and OC for work. As for Winter session, I figured that since I will have 65 units by the end of Spring that I would not need to take additional course thus I only took one 3 unit course for this session. What are your thoughts?

After reviewing my course loads from the past semesters, it does not look like UCLA will accept me. I think it is safe to say that I will not be accepted to UCLA. Thank you and have a nice day. I am going to be emo now.

haha. It is not the intersession that I am talking about, unfortunately :(. I am talking about this upcoming semester (Spring) and another Spring semester from last year.

Yuriy, thanks for the support. I thought I had a good chance until I factored in my past course loads. By the way, how are your classes going?

"As for Winter session, I figured that since I will have 65 units by the end of Spring that I would not need to take additional course thus I only took one 3 unit course for this session."

Seems like you are concerned about the intersession there...

haha. Perhaps you are right. Do adcoms care if you take summer/winter sessions? What if you skipped them? This does not apply to me but I was just curious.

As long as you get a good grade in what u are currently taking . you are fine .. gosh .. try to relax you know .. This is not the end of the world .. u should be proud of yourself since u are trying your best to get good grades in all of your classes .. the admission should understand that .. sometimes I felt like you "Niki" are .. hrmm over-reacted somehow .. u should belief in yourself . Don't compare urself with others because we are not the same .. u are unique for the way you are ..

LittleBlue, I hope you are right. I do not see why I should take additional courses (65+ in my case) just to show that I have challenged myself. I mean, many of those credits would be going to waste. What I mean by this is that I will be spending money on extra credits that I do not necessarily need. Anything over 70 semester units is "pointless" in my opinion. I may have not been a full-time student during all of my semesters at a CCC but I still managed to complete IGETC, 60 semester units and maintained a 3.7 cumulative GPA. I hope they see past the fact that I had a light course load in a couple of semesters. I pray that my 12 unit summer semester will make up for my light course load. Okay, I am finished with over-analyzing my situation. The only thing I can do is wait and see if I get in. There is no point is over-analyzing that factors that may or may not determine my acceptance into UCLA.

Also, i want wondering if you attended a CCC that was on a semester or quarter system since this would make a difference between those who take 12-15 units a semester and those who take less since there is one more session to achieve (or take less) units per semester.

Another question popped into my head today. Will enrolling in classes for this summer (2006) be considered? Since I will have to petition for the IGETC certification and turn in my transcripts by June 1st (or whenever a school accepts me) my summer courses (or even grades) will not be on those transcripts. Are any of you guys taking summer courses this year even though you applied to the UC's for Fall 06'?
