course registration

I'm just curious since other colleges have already begun course registration (the deadline of fdew) is already approaching, when does W&L open course registration?

When it does open, how would you guys suggest going about it? Whats the best way to pick up classes, besides interest wise? Mistakes to avoid?

Thanks.

You register during orientation the first week of September. You will meet your advisor the night before for dinner and then again that day. Everything will be explained to you when you get to campus so don't worry about it for now, you can find more information on the freshman orientation website.

Even though you don't have to worry about it till orientation week, I will give you one recommendation avoid the A/8 am classes at all costs especially during fall term. You don't really have as much control as you would hope over preventing that, but you can do a little.

However, don't let this prevent you from taking a class that you believe you will enjoy.

Sorry, this was all jumbled up. What I'm trying to say is that Freshman Fall term will probably be the most fun you will have here (especially orientation week), so you will always need that extra hour or 2 of sleep.

^ I wouldnt know, I never take classes earlier than 10AM

Any other tips beside not picking an early class? If we have a very clear idea of what we want to major in, should we load up on these classes first or get General Education Requirements and electives out of the way? What's a good schedule look like for first semester? Should you cluster classes of similar fields or try to spread them out as possible over your four years? Thanks!

Go for the Gen Eds first, its nice to get them out the way early (and that way you dont end up the lone senior in a philosophy 100 class), take different classes at the start, you might change your mind about a major or add a second major or drop one, you never know. Also I would say try to take two classes that should be easier for you and two classes that are more challenging.
