Course Rigor (sophmore year)

I'm a rising sophmore and I want to know if my course rigor is rigorous enough for Top Notch colleges.

AP global World
Honors english
honors trig
Spanish II
chemistry

so far i have 2 honors, and 1 AP. I'm just a sophmore so i'm trying to take it easy.

What do you guys think? should i take more honor courses?

someone please answer? :(

Is it possible for you to take more classes? For example my junior year I’m taking 9 classes, which looks much better than your 5 classes

Course rigor is relative, depending on your high school. Ask your high school’s college counseling office how your schedule looks in the context of your school.

It matters how many honors/ ap are available and how many you have taken.

I’ve taken none Freshmen year.
This made me quite anxious.

@stressedbuthappy, I have no words for you, seriously, go home. 9 courses? does that even include lunch, gym, and other “nonacademic” courses?

“Looks better than your 5 classes”. … you really give terrible advice. Please. stop being such an ignorant jerk.

I would also like to thank everyone (asianisnas and siliconvalley mom). thanks for commenting!!!

Just make sure you try to take as many honors as advanced placements you school offers and get good grades in them.

Agree.

You will not get a useful answer to this question on CC from people who do not know your school. If your school offers 8 AP classes vs. another school that offers 28, the “most rigorous” schedules at each will look very different.

This may suggest to me that there are opportunities to take a more rigorous schedule which you are not choosing. Since the most selective schools have an abundance of applicants that do take the most rigorous of schedules and do well on them, this may put you at a disadvantage.

xD great advice, but my school only offers Sophmores 1 AP class to take. Freshmen can take none. Starting at Junior year, my school allows students to take as many as they want, but my school limits students at sophmore year at 1 AP, and Freshmen can take none. kinda sucks if you ask me
