<p>During the winter I applied to several schools as a transfer, and on the Common App I had to list my Spring quarter courses. I wasn't sure what I was going to take, so I just listed the most likely courses. I'm now reconsidering one of them. Will it necessarily be a big deal if I decide not to take it? Is it the kind of thing they would rescind admission over? The course is unrelated to my major.</p>
<p>You should notify the colleges you applied to, but it is unlikely they would rescind. Write an email that says something like this:</p>
<p>Dear X Admissions,</p>
<p>I have applied <or been="" accepted=""> at college X as a transfer student for fall 2013. <somehow identify="" yourself="" --="" if="" they="" have="" given="" you="" an="" id="" #="" tell="" them="" what="" that="" is,="" or="" give="" the="" last="" 4="" digits="" of="" your="" social="">. I wanted to notify you of a change in my spring course elections. My application stated that I would be taking course X at <current college="">. However, because of <reason>, I have decided to drop that class and switch to to course Y. The number of credits is <the same,="" different,="" etc.="">.</the></reason></current></somehow></or></p>
