Hi everyone,
In the midst of the coronavirus, many competitions have been canceled or postponed. So, alongside several friends, I am hosting an online Case Competition to take place on April 10th, 2020. I understand that this is quite an unconventional event to be posted on College Confidential. However, we believe that many of the intellectual students on here would be interested by an event like this.
You may be wondering what a case competition is. In short, it’s a competition in which participants try to come up with the best solution to a problem. So, if you like puzzles or thinking out of the box, this is the competition for you!
Some info about the competition:
Wingspan Solutions is hosting its online COVID-19 Case Competition on April 10, where competitors (in teams of 1 or 2) from across the nation will read a case study and prompt detailing a coronavirus-related problem. They will then create and pitch innovative solutions that could have an immediate positive impact on their communities. Competitors will have their proposals reviewed by business and healthcare leaders, making for extensive networking and career opportunities. Competitors are encouraged to attack the problems from all angles. The organizers have kept the scope deliberately broad to ensure people of all backgrounds and interests can contribute something valuable, whether they be engineers, artists, programmers, business people, etc. (or math competition people like you!)
The winning team will win a 100 dollar Amazon gift card. No prior experience is required! We will release educational resources to provide everyone a fair shot in the competition. Each competitor must pay a 10 dollar entree fee via Eventbrite and sign-up with the form below. All profits, included GoFundMe donations, will be matched and donated to our frontline workers fighting COVID-19.
