CR 500 to 600+

How can I get to 600 plus within the next 2 days. I never really studied CR and thats the only thing left and just want that 600. I'm not that great in vocab but i can get most right. Its the comprehension questions that i do bad on, how can i improve it and quickly?

bump…anyone???

There are really only 3 ways to improve your CR reading score.

Learn etymologies, root words, prefixes/suffixes etc. My honors english class in 9th grade focused on learning these when we studied vocabulary, and it has proven to be so helpful with words I don’t know on the SAT.

Make sure you understand the passage (citations are very helpful). You simply cannot score high if you cannot comprehend what you are reading. Why is that one question so hard? Because You don’t have a good understanding of the text. Why is that other question so easy? Because you understand the text.

If you were to try and do the questions without reading the passage at all, then E, M, and H questions would seem equally difficult because you do not know the text. But once you read and gain an understanding of it, the questions become easier.

Practice. You don’t just simply read a book about tips for the SAT and score really high, you have to practice. Practice, practice, practice.

obsquared, really good advice!

My suggestion is that you read as much as possible, even if only two days left.

Look, you have to make your brains ‘think’ the text, imagine it etc.

Best of luck to you guys!
