CR: Long passages-Do you read the whole passage?

I'm in the early stages of preparation and I tend to read the entire passage, then go back to answer the questions. However, this process is very time consuming. What do you recommend I do, instead?

check out Noitaraperp’s guide on critical reading, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/750399-how-attack-sat-critical-reading-section-effectively.html

its a really great guide on how to tackle the critical reading part on the sat effectively

^ I second that (went from mid-600’s to 700’s in the past week using the guide).

Read it. I know some people tell you not to focus too heavily on the details, but make you sure you do somewhat, so at the end you’re not like *** did I just read. Cause that’s happened to me so many times. Im not great at CR by any means, but I went from 7-8 wrong per section (25 question ones) down to 2-3 questions wrong per section.
