I don't understand the answer, E.

bring up my post!

thanks

what did u pick?

I skipped it, becuase none of the answers seemed to be relevant.

Any more inputs?

passage 2 talks about how the town meetings are bad and run by only rich people, etc. but lines 58-65 give an example in which the actual "town folk" ran the meetings, so answer choice D works:
D) it compares an atypical, verified example with an inaccurate generalization

ok. the comparison lies in the fact that the "town folk" are running the meeting and not the rich "civilized'' people. its an atypical example, meaning not typical, because its contradicts most of the passage; its verified, or true, because the author gives specific facts such it was "abandoned [in] 1639", and "Dedham, Massachusetts" ; and lastly, its a generalization because the author says in line 60, "made ALL the big decisions", maybe they didnt make all of them, but at least a few. hope this helps

btw, the correct answer is D, not E as you said in ur first post

thanks paniwani! that really cleared up my question.
