So what are we thinking? Was this a particularly easy/difficult CR SAT? Expected curves?

There weren't any especially bad questions. The Mona Lisa smilefile one was a hard question but I doubt they'll throw any out since they probably would have already done that...

They did throw one out in the May SAT. I checked online and it said total questions = 48... not 49..

they threw 2 out in June writing

How do you know all of this? Do they just throw things out without announcing it? How do they decide they can just throw things out?

They threw a Writing question out on May SAT too.

ETS decides if a question is fair or not

Are curves the same thing as throwing out a question?

...I'm confused!

I think if you throw out a question (say from 49 to 48 on the writing). Then The new total is what the what it would be if not thrown out... like i am saying 42 = 43. 48 =49. Because I got a 42 on writing which was a 69... which is very strange. Usually its harsh. I think the 42 was the "43" score before they removed it.

I think it's just one of these rumors started on CC... My May SAT had no questions "thrown out" in either the reading or the writing

Well the May and June did. ITS NOT A RUMOR. Sigh.. why would I lie about this.

CAn you show me any official announcements? I just checked my may score reports and it had the same number of questions as there were for the practice books.. 67 for CR and 49 for W

If a question is deemed unfair, wouldn't they announce it?

but I guess if on your question answer sheet it showed 1 less question, it must have been thrown out.

If you got the question right, how would discarding affect you? I'm really confused.

Did you check your may SAT answer report? People told me the june one so i cant fully substantiate about that. However after doing research from, January, April, May, June (and I think one more) the difference between the avg. in the blue book and the actual is this. For january 0. April - +10
May - +10
June + 20-30.
Judging from this its going a slower trend upwards towards a better curve... however they could of been making the test progressivly harder.. I don't know which to believe. But I believe the curve on this CR should be about 10 + - 30 + because people are saying SC's were harder than June (which had the 20-30) but the passages were easier. IMO these passages were pretty easy. Same difficulty as May and easier than january. So i conclude with 10-30+ curve.
