Cranbrook vs Masters vs Cushing

So I am accepted to 5 schools, but these 3 schools remain on my list. I personally feel more for Cranbrook schools, but I don't know if I had missed something wonderful about Masters school (NY) and Cushing Academy. I am an internation student so I don't have the opportunity to visit those schools myself, so most thing I know is from my friends and the internet.

I don't know which school to choose from. Your opinions will be very helful. Please tell me what you think about those 3 schools when you visit them, or anything about them that you think may help me. :)

I don’t know Cranbrook. Masters is close to NYC and you will be able to move around via train and bus. I know kids at Masters and they like it. Cushings has no town what so ever but you maybe able to visit Boston on weekends. I did read negative reviews about Cushings on cc.

muf: I did read negative things about Cushing too, but there are some international kids who really love Cushing. It’s such a pity that I can’t go visit the school myself! :frowning:
The kids at Masters that you know are at what age and are they international students?

Master kids are day students and love it. I should be fair about Cushings. I have also heard that a lot of international students enjoy the school. You should go to revisit day. What are the other 2 schools from your list?

Hello! I am from MASTERS! yea, I’m a student right now!

I really suggest you take a hard and careful look before you choose…if you already did or didn’t.

I don’t really know much about Cranbrook, but I do know about Cushings(DONT DO IT!)

I got accepted there and didnt like it at all, I immediately went for Masters.

I mean, the people here are really nice, and love to help!

And I don’t know if your international or not, but the ones that are here are the coolest! I love the interational kids(they love me too) I’m from Cali, so it kind of feels like I’m international lol. I mean, I was so cool that I got to go to the International trip to Washington DC(which was the best thing ever because it was EXCLUSIVELY for internationals only)

One thing I can say about Masters though, is that its cliquey, I mean REALLY cliquey! Everyone is apart of some kind of group and they stay with that group. Like the Koreans hang out with the Koreans, the Chinese, the Blacks, and then the separate groups of White people.

And their is a strong presence of day students. In most of your classes, you will be one of the few of the boarders(if you are going to be a boarder)

But Masters is like a big community once all the day students are gone and the boarders are left. We always stick together!

But yeah, having the city close by is really great, because in most or all of your classes, you will have a trip that involves you going to the City ALL the time. Actually, all new boarding students have a scavenger hunt at the beginning of the year in the city(its fun trust me) and you meet a lot of people and basically explore the city so you know everything for when you want to go on the weekends.

I don’t go to the City much, only because I don’t have time. THE WORK IS CHALLENGING!

It’s very stressful at times, but then you feel comforted because your sharing this stress with others. lol.

Well, I don’t want to give too much away, but you should definitely choose Masters over those schools! You won’t regret it…well at first you will but later on you will get used to it. lol.

Inbox me if you have any questions.

I have been going crazy looking for some idea of what the Masters school is like. But every thread is about fricking Andover or exerter or Deerfield. My god has everyone forgotten about my beloved New York. So Thanxs for giving me an idea about what the Masters is like.
And it kinda sucks about the cliques. I mean evry high school has them but i have a tendency of taking one person from each clique and making my own group  i hope i dont get eaten alive for it. Are there lots of stuck up, snobby, mommy and daddy’s plastic kinda kids? Thanks again Loveispeac3

Any websites for more info on the masters?
