Crap. I totally messed up the financial aid things...

I went to the TAMs thing and for no particular reason pressed on the Financial Aid Document tracking thing and BAM, I find out I'm missing:

US Citizenship Verification
2006 Parents Federal Income Tax Return
2006 Parents W-2 Form(s)

All three were due 2/15 and to top it off, it say "Incomplete Documents--Due Date Past " on the top. Am I screwed and not getting any $ from Tufts or anyone think I could still send the documents in and hope for the best.

I guess I should have stayed on top of this, but all my other schools sent me a notice saying my financial paperwork wasn't in order.

:(

Call the FA office, explain the situation and ask them what you should do. They're the only ones who know.

i did the same thing but i sent them out a week ago. it still doesn't show that they are in online...i hope this doesn't mean i won't get financial aid.

i probably won't get in anyways but there's always the off chance i might and it wouldn't be an option without aid

You will still get any aid like Pell, Stafford, etc. that you would be eligible for. What you may not get is aid like institutional grants, SEOG (federal), federal work study --- because there is a limited pool of money & colleges usually go through & award that using a formula (computer does it). To get into the mix for that money-split, most colleges use a pretty strict deadline. Of course, Tufts might have put you in, anyway, if you had certain items on file by the date ... I don't know how strict they are. On the other hand, you may not have been eligible, anyway, so it wouldn't matter. Bottom line is, what is done is done. Just hang in there until you get your aid letter and make your decision from there. I've said it before and I will say it again ... worrying doesn't change anything. So don't worry!

It shouldn't be a problem, tufts is pretty easy with deadlines, i was missing the verification of citizenship too, and i dropped off my proof of citizenship about 2 months after it was due, and my fafsa was about 5 days late, and i talk to the FA office, and the were like it should be fine and it wouldn't affect you award amount, plus they haven't done the awards yet, they still have to wait til the regular admission to get in

they haven't? we didn't receive the info needed to fill out the 2006 tax returns until like a week ago and i completely missed that deadline as well...

i have my 2005 ones in though, on TAMS it says we can use 2005 to replace 2006?

I'm sending my 2005 ones. Whatever. I probably won't get in anyways. And I decided not to call. I can imagine the conversation now:

Me: Hi, I accidentally forgot to send some financial aid documents.
Office: That's OK, which ones?
Me: My US Citizenship Verification, 2006 Parents Federal Income Tax Return, and 2006 Parents W-2 Form...
Office: Why?
Me: Um....
Office: Don't bother to send them, Tuft doesn't need morons...
