crap room assignment

so me and a friend requested each other as roomates. we did our applications exactly the same. only thing is he is premed and im engineering, so he got into the residential college and i cant because of engineering. so all of the residential college kids live on east quad so i figured that we would just room together on east quad. well i was wrong i got put on bursley on north campus. they didnt tell me who my roomate was but i was wondering if there was anyway to change this....thanks

Is there any particular reason you banked on this? It's not like UM guaranteeds you priority because of your desired roommate. You're actually lucky that your potential roommate wasn't placed in Bursley with you instead. I suppose he was lucky. I have friends in the honors college who tried what you did and got stuck with Bursley instead of South Quad.

well the reason i thought that is because the RC kids are required to live on east quad. anyway i talked to him today and he said he quit the RC and he got assigned to bursley also. i guess thats better but would we have a chance of getting on central campus? or should we even try?

at this time, your efforts are probably futile. Its way too late. Most people already "exchanged" and there are probably no rooms that people want to trade off except bursley and baits.. that sucks for you both. Now you know that if you request a roommate as a freshman, you'll be stuck in north.

On the lighter side, at least you didnt get baits
