I was reading an article on writing colleges, because I would love to become a writer (Hence the username
And was intrigued when I saw MIT. Is this true? Or is it more tech writing? Sorry it got cut off.
Yes, it is broadly true. For example, the fiction writing program is overseen by Junot Díaz, who won the Pulitzer prize for fiction with his 2008 novel “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao”. When I was on campus, science fiction writing was taught by Joe Haldeman (Most known for “The Forever War”, but has 5 Hugos and 5 Nebulas), Alan Lightman’s novel “Einstein’s Dreams” was an international bestseller, and he was a finalist for a National Book award in fiction for “The Diagnosis”. When I was on campus A. R. “Pete” Gurney taught playwriting, while having one of his plays on Broadway, but he has retired long-since. And of course there is a world class program in science writing. MIT has pretty good writing program.
