I know penn awards credit for certain AP scores but I was searching the website and couldn't find anything concerning subject tests. Does penn give credit for high subject test scores? I am particularly curious about the chemistry and spanish language subject tests. Let me know. Thanks.

The spanish SAT II fulfills the language requirement for scores about 650. To get a chemistry elective credit, you have to get a 5 on the AP exam, and if you need to take chemistry for your major, you need to take a placement exam.

Perfect. Thank you for your help. Is there a website link where you got this info from?

The Chem credit only works if you do not plan to take any more chem. If you pass out of or take Chem 101 and/or Chem 102, the credit goes away. I think the only thing the AP exam can really can do is help you get a lab waiver if you pass out of intro chem, but I’m not entirely sure.

Thanks a lot. Answered all I needed to know.

It says on the website that SAT II’s make one exempt from the language requirement, but does it give credit?
Since 4’s on the AP Spanish exam only makes you exempt, and don’t give you credit, what’s the policy for SAT II’s?
Thanks!

You only get credit for a 5 on the AP. A 650 or above on the subject test only exempts you from the requirement.

For the English AP credit, do you have to get 5’s on both tests or do can you get the English Freshman Free with only one exam?
