Credits for college

If I transfer schools in the same state is it possible I can still lose credits?

Are you in college now? Credits earned at one college are not guaranteed to transfer to any other college.

Yes.

In addition, if you are transferring during your freshman year of college (right now with one semester of grades) , it will be your high school transcript and grades that will determine your admissions.

If you are trying t transfer to a school where you have previously applied, most schools hold your applications for2 years. What new information will you be able to offer?

You need to check the provided service for the colleges that tell you whether courses from your college are accepted for transfer to the other. One source to start with is possibly collegetransfer.net. What you will usually find is that most courses will transfer but there can be exceptions, particularly for peculiar courses or remedial courses (ones taken like pre-calculus math courses because you did not complete enough math in high school), or acceptance of AP credit if part of what you want to transfer is AP credits that were accepted by your original college, e.g., your college may accept a 4 test score to allow for credit for an AP course and the other might require a 5.

You can find a lot of good info on the Transferology website. You put in what courses you have taken at your school and then which schools you are interested in transferring to and it will tell you whether or not the classes transfer.
