Criminology/Criminal Justice and...what else?

I want to get into criminal justice admin/public policy, but my school offers criminal justice or criminology. I was thinking to double major in Criminology and Political Science or Criminology and Sociology or Criminology and International Studies? Do you think these would be the right double majors for this or should i do something different?

Ps- my school doesn't offer a major in Public admin either

It depends on your career goals. If you are thinking about a management position in the criminal justice field then you should consider a master’s program or law school over a double major.

I think that criminal justice and public policy are pretty different and you should decide what you want. Also, I know a woman whose son was a criminal justice major and had a lot of trouble finding a job without military experience. Think of all the vets who went to school. Criminology and Sociology are both Psych branches. Kinda interchangeable. Not really worth it to study both. I think the Criminology and PolSci are the best plan. If you want to get a job, try and get internships, and get involved in campus organizations. Good luck.

Sociology and criminology are not branches of psychology. Psychology and sociology are separate fields that developed independently of one another. Criminology is a branch/concentration of sociology. I agree, though, that there is likely to be too much overlap to double major in sociology and criminology, because criminology uses sociology tenets and methods and many of the criminology coursework is likely to be sociology coursework anyway.

My sister-in-law majored in criminal justice and she currently works as a deputy sheriff for the county.

What do you want to do? The minor/double major will enhance your main concentration in criminology or criminal justice. Political science is the study of government systems, as well as how those systems affect people and business and other things. International studies is an interdisciplinary field that can include a lot of things, including political science. Either of these can be a good choice; it just depends on your interests.
