Critical Reading December 2008 Test Version 2: Korean Mother, Nature, etc.

bob123123
i put pssage 1 was reactions to an idea while 2 was like challenging the idea?
i forgot the second half
but i def put "reactions" for the 1st passage.

^ i concur.

abcd27, "analogy" was the answer to the last question on privacy, it was something like what do the these lines from each passage both use?

^yea i put that i remember now-the one that abcd said (I forgot what i had been dabating between)
yea i had analogy but thats was for the tech/privacy passage

oh that thats right

i was dabating betwene reactions/challenging
and

passage 1 gave 2 accounts of reactions while passage 2 criticized it

i think i just end up going betwene reactions/challenging because it was more broad

genetics was pretty easy

oh yeahhh good
did everyone put "1st passage was describing reactions of ppl"
for the relationship between the genetics passages?

yes, i remember putting that.

and "heartening" was another answer?

what were the other questions for the genetics passage? i can't remember.

yeah, heartening.

i mean, i think there were only 4 questions on the genetics passage.

ya^there were 5 on genetics (i know weird)

what was the answer to the navigation one that was like

"what is the point of the author mentioning famous landmarks on sea"

i was stuck between
"they used visual objects/guides to tell locations of places"
and
"they needed something to orient themselves at sea"

it seemed like BOTH would work so i was like ***/..?
i went witht he first one

abcd, i think i put that two... what was it saying about pasage two though in that comparison

i have a question:

was "ominous" really the answer for the privacy one?

how many questions RIGHT to get 600?? Saying omitting 5 questions.

bob123123:

landmark one was "~~ open sea"
i think it was something like they needed to orient themselves on the open sea...

i had two long grammars, or two 35 ones, which one was experimental, i hope first one

i had ominous

i also picked that they need something to orient themselves at sea. (i was torn between the two as well.)

^bob123123, i think it was the the second one ("they needed something to orient themselves at sea) cuz theres no landmarks when ure at sea so they need something else to use as "landmarks" when theyre sailing

afitscher, the writing section with strip malls was experimental.

so the one with the ant lion wasn't.

The writing section with strip malls was not experimental...
At least for me.

^^yea, ominous should be the answer b/c it was the only word that goes with "bad"

^raw score of ~48 to have 600+
