Critical reading problems

Please give me tips on how to raise my critical reading score to something between 700 and 800. Im desperate!!!!!!!!!

I went from a 680 to 760. My secret? Focus. On the March SAT, when I got a 680, I didn't read the passages and merely skimmed for information. I didn't truly "focus" on understanding the passages.

In December, when I scored a 760, I just read the passages with intensity and focus, and then the questions didn't seem so bad.

I went from 590 to 790. My secret?

Well, strong vocabulary and concentration are indispensable. Also, you should always ask yourself about what you have just read. Never stay passive.

Alpha, what do you mean by intense reading? Word for word reading, or engaging yourself as in taking the passage to heart and interact with it by asking questions and what not? I just follow the passage by the questions, so I'll never read TOO ahead of a question and I can easily eliminate answers that don't relate to Lines 9-14 or whatever.

Vocab, and make sure everything you read is supported by the text. Only make inferences when it tells you to.
