How to get 700+ in Critical reading

Hey fellow CCers

Sorry to have another help me thread, but i really need help lol! Now before you switch to another thread, i would like some help in improving my CR score

when i took the SAT back in January, i got 570 :(, yea i know terrible, but in practice tests i took before the test date i got 660, 610, and 640. So i was really shocked to see that i got that low. I'm retaking it again in Oct and I'd like some pointers and how to get it up into the 700s

my Writing wasn't bad 670, and i'm cool with that but my CR needs to go up. thank you in advance for the help.

Same problem here ):

First of all, you need to know your vocab. Get an SAT vocab book (I reccomend Direct Hits). By knowing a lot of words, your performance ont he vocab parts should improve.

For the passages, really “actively read”. Don’t just process the words of teh passage. Really process what you are reading. Often, the answers to a question is specifically stated, so you need to know what parts of the passage contian what information.

In CR I studied my way to 700+ so it can be done. The first and easiest way to up the score is definitely vocab which is very straightforward through a prep book such as direct hits. As for the passages, every answer is rooted firmly within the passage so it is about uncovering that. The best approach in my opinion is to answer as many questions as you can after each paragraph so as to preserve the most memory about the passage in answering the questions. Keep looking in the passage for the answer because it is almost always there.
