Critical Reading Vocab-1 week left-PLEASE HELP

I've practiced/studied critical reading to the point I only get the last 1/2 sentance completions wrong because of the hard vocab.

I think it's time for me to start on vocab. With one week left, can anyone suggest a succinct effective list? Please help!

You won't find one in one week that will let you do ALL of them. Cramming never works. Trust me, those 250 words are not enough... i have been studying barrons 3500 words and I miss still about 1. Sometimes though its 0.

so you're saying screw it?

nooo. do the list. But you will always miss 1 or 2. Trust me. DO THE LIST.

1 or 2 per section? or total?

per section

what could i do to improve on that?

learn to not procrastinate next time.

dude one or two wrong per section?
That much can easily be scored without any special vocab list

I have a question. Many people here mentioned barron's 3500 word list. It seems pretty good. I'm just wondering where I can find this list?? Is it in the barron 2400 or something?

nO ITS in barrons how to prepare for SAT. it also has a lot of idioms/writing things people miss (accept vs except for instance).

is the one in barrons how to prep for SAT the same as the one in the critcal reading workbook by barrons?

never bought the workbook.

all i know is teh barron's CR workbook has 87 lists of vocab words.

i went through them all and copied down the ones i dind't know.

a lot of them are fairly simple words, but i did copy about 70 words that i needed to practice.

so..is taht sparknotes list any good???

Rather than trying to memorize words at this point, I would try different strategies. Use elimination, plug in words you know, try synonyms, use key words provided in the sentence as hints. Decide if the sentence is speaking negatively, or positively, etc.

i recommend Sparknote's 1000 over barron's 3500. I memorized the SN 1000 in a few weeks and now i'm getting only 1 wrong at the most on the sentence completions.
