Criticism of Northeastern University College of Professional Studies

I am an alumni of Northeastern University CPS program. I got admitted to the Graduage School of Arts and Sciences in the same year I got admitted to the CPS. I picked CPS because I couldn’t afford the tuition of Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. CPS is based on making students taking more classes than required. During my studies at this school, I planned to find internships and co-ops. However, anytime I tried to ask co-op office help, I always got an email which says “someone is sick”, “someone was not in the office”, “someone hung up the phone when I asked how I could find a co-op”, “I was sent a link which was only engineering school co-op program”, “received number of emails which said find your own co-op”. Since the beginning, I cooperated with the co-op office and set up a meeting. However, I always got an answer which says “find your own co-op”.

Before I started at Northeastern University, my plan was to find co-ops and internships to pay off my tuition, to have experience, get connected to find a sponsor in the US. This was exactly an idea of academic dean of Northeastern CPS when he was talking about why students need co-op. Northeastern CPS academic dean is an idiot who employs other idiots to create an ideal platform to make students to take more classes than required. You might be ending up being represented by number of people whom you have never met and giving unsolicited references when you find great co-ops from Ivy league institutions. Professors who have nothing to do with co-op office might also want to involve. I am not sure if this is legal to give unsolicited references and I got a full of hatred look from a professor when I got an offer from Harvard. I can also say that professors like her didn’t come to CPS classes to teach, but rather making few bucks and talked shit in the class. She was the one who asked people “what you expected from this program, or coming to the class as drunk, or sending class materials which had nothing to do with class” While she was coming to class as drunk, didn’t know what she was talking about in the class, sending stupid materials to class as email, I have been learning new skills and I know different languages which could do better than her teachings on my own. The administration will not help you, but rather telling you to take more classes than required. CPS is not well respected in Northeastern University in many aspects of what you are expecting from Northeastern University. Be careful who you are dealing with. These people have nothing to do education. I see them idiot and unsuccessful people who are putting effort to stop a student’s success.

I met couple of good teachers who are professionals in the industry, but there are bad apples who come to the classes to take a few bucks and have no idea of what they were talking about, as such a professor full of hatred look because I had an excellent offer.

I was discriminated at co-op office when I found my co-ops and internships on my own. I was discriminated at the co-op office when I got offers from three Ivy league schools and an internship offer from the state senator. I was told not to take an offer from Georgetown University, but take more classes. I was told that I was not eligible to do my internship and didn’t get any answer for three weeks when I had an internship offer from the Massachusetts State Senator Office. My evaluations were customized for Harvard University offers. Co-op director knew how to manipulate each offer and lied to me during applications, evaluations. The way she tried to build relationship with my employers based on her lies such as she didn’t cooperate, such as sending my evaluation to a deliberate wrong contact, such as putting number of people into contact with my employer at Georgetown who had nothing to do CPS co-op global studies and international affairs program. She adjusted everything in the emails which was based on her lies. I was removed from the offices twice when I came and talked to her. She created a fabricated meeting. When I came to the office, once she was screaming to the office attendants as “send her and what does she want”. Another time, during a fabricated meeting, I heard that "a different co-op officer was challenging her and she was screaming so she would not meet with me. I had an email which said she wasn’t in the office and she set up an appointment with a different officer at a different times. When I came to the office, this officer didn’t meet me and she sent another email which said “she waited for me and I didn’t come”. The email I had a different time and a different officer. When I came to the office, she was screaming to the officer. I was told to go out and pick my papers from the security while I was in the offices. Number of things co-director told me and to my employers had nothing to do with me, but rather tried to manipulate me and others so she would find flaws that had nothing to do my work during internships and co-ops. When I went to talk to the administration, the global studies director ran after academic dean when I complained about the co-op director. She was running after academic dean and then her names showed up in my records as my advisor. She is a person I have never met and never taken classes. Co-op director was trying to prevent my co-op offers, number of people at the administration got involved either by communication or showed up in my records.

This shows how they are so petty and unsuccessful people that they were preventing a student’s internships and co-ops which had nothing to do approval from anyone. Co-op office job was to process paperwork, but they didn’t cooperate, but rather lied multiple times. SO BE CAREFUL, YOU ARE THERE TO TAKE MORE THAN REQUIRED CLASSES. I RESISTED NOT TAKING MORE THAN REQUIRED CLASSES.
