Critique My college list please!

Hello! I am a senior from the suburbs of NY I have a 100 Weighted GPA , 33 ACT (This might have gone up),
Lots of extracurricular activities and leadership positions.
Looking to major in computer science.
Right now these are the list of schools I believe I am applying to in no particular order:

University of Pennsylvania
Georgetown University
University of Michigan
Georgia Tech
Northeastern University
University of Pittsburgh
Tulane University
Temple University
Syracuse University
University of Wisconsin

Are all of these realistic to get into and would I receive merit scholarships from any of them?

What is your study objective / intended major and how much do you hope to spend?

Looks good

I think you might get merit from Pitt and Tulane, but to make sure you get merit consider adding an automatic merit school like U Alabama or U Mississippi.

The order does seem to be presented in likely hood of admission as well as inverse merit aid.

Some of your schools at the top don’t even give merit scholarships, or insignificant ones if they do. And the cost of attendance for these schools is pretty different. What you need to know is what the total cost of attendance (tuition/room/board/fees - need/merit aid) is. Even then, are you likely to go to Pitt for $20K/yr vs Penn at $65K/yr?

Why not U of Rochester? It has good merit aid and decent CS. It’s not as large as the schools on your list, but it is probably better for CS than half of the schools on your list.

Your other thread indicated your family can pay $35k/year. Did you confirm that number with your parents? Does that figure include the federal loan and summer work earnings?

This list doesn’t look much different from your last one. Did you run the NPCs and remove the unaffordable schools? What’s your safety school?

My safety schools are Tulane, Syracuse and Temple

I’m not sure you can consider Tulane a “safety” - more like a match. They’ve become increasingly competitive and I’ve heard of students with similar stats to yours being turned down, especially if Tulane thinks they are a “safety.” You definitely want to show interest here - and if you’re looking for merit $$ also consider applying for their top merit awards (extra essays, etc.) Temple over-enrolled students last year and was $22 million over budget due to too many students qualifying for automatic merit $$ - so while I think it is a safety for you, I think it may be harder to get significant merit $$. Syracuse should be a safety.

What state are you from? Is it Wisconsin? Will you apply to your state flagship? Or state school with an honors college? You should -

Penn and Georgetown reaches for everyone. You seem to have the stats, but there are 5 or 6 of “you” with same stats for every open seat.

Pitt should be a match / safety -

A lot depends on how much you are depending on merit $$. I agree with @ormdad that you might look at URochester. Another school to look at might be Case Western.

Good luck.
