Im having a hard time deciding what to major in. Its between cRNA, Pharmacy and an NP. The only thing is all thru middle school and high school i didnt get the best grades, i was mainly a C student.. Which major do you think would be suitable for me.

I like..
Working with people
Making decent or enough money
Making a difference
And I want to be able to enjoy my job

Without knowing more about your situation/stats, I would say nursing would be an easier and quicker route to go than pharmacy. And you would probably do more hands on patient care, if that's what you mean by working with people and making a difference. But you should explore these careers more and find out for yourself!

You probably couldn't get into the 0-6 pharm schools with a C, or even B, average as they are very competitive these days. However, you could do your pre-pharmacy prereq's at any college, earn a high gpa, then take the PCAT exam (and score high) and apply to pharmacy schools. It's a more competitive route but your high school grades wouldn't be considered. Also, you're probably aware that it's a six year commitment and can be quite expensive. It's not unusual to have a $100K debt by graduation. So, that may be a factor in your decision too.

NP is a very good field too and seems like my friends did it in stages, got RN/BS first, worked while getting NP, which gave them time to find a specialty they liked. You might also consider PA school if you like patient care and desire a little more autonomy. Several of my MD friends have said they'd go to PA school instead of med if they had to do it all over again.

My suggestion would be to volunteer or shadow with a few professionals so you get a better feel for what the jobs are like and which you would like better. Hope that was a little helpful...good luck!
