Croc Hunter Steve Irwin Died

Crikey! I know this isn't a news bulletin, but I was shocked to hear this terribly sad news. I loved his show. It's tragic.

Here's the story:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/09/04/australia.irwin/index.html

Gee! That's so sad :(
His job was terribly dangerous though. I wouldn't be too surprised if he lost a limb or his life on the job.

It is very sad, and yet at the same time quite fitting.

Someone on another board posted that, as horrible as it sounds, they would've been disappointed if he'd died of natural causes. I kind of agree with that. I mean, the man definitely died doing what he loved.

I feel for his family, though. RIP Steve Irwin!

Holy Hell!

It is sad. Also, it's not known currently (or last I checked, an hour ago) if his wife knew.

RIP, Steve.

It seems like whenever I saw him on TV, he had a big smile on his face. It made me terribly sad when I heard the news.

A great man who cared

Wow, I'm surprised at how sad I am :( He was so awesome...My whole family was really depressed :(

I'm worried about his family.

His kids are still young.

Considering his job and its OBVIOUS risks, I'm sure his family was at least somewhat prepared for something like this. I'm not saying a family can be completely prepared for death...but for someone whose job title is Crocodile Hunter...I'm sure his family was more prepared than the average family to deal with something that was inevitable.
Still tragic, of course!

Very sad, I agree.

Very sad indeed, but really irresponsible on his part. His shtick was to basically put himself in dangerous situations only to titilate his audience. There is no need to handle snakes or stingrays the way he did, they could have been filmed from a close but safe distance. It was really irresponsible of him considering he had a family.

Now he will really be "down under"

His body didn't get recovered?

Yes, it was.

he meant 'down under' as in burried

...or as in Hell...but I dnt think he was that bad a guy.
