I’m aware that there’s a cross campus system that allows students to take online courses at any UC, but is there a program that allows students to study at a different host campus over the summer? I live about 45 minutes away from UC Davis and am going to be attending UCLA this Fall, but I was hoping that next year over the Summer I could take a course or two at UC Davis in order to stay on track for graduating (transfer student here). Is this possible? I rather take the Summer break to be at home with friends & family.
Yes you can take summer session courses at any UC and they will transfer. Make sure the course you are taking will fulfill your major requirements for UCLA. I did summer at Davis myself.
The cross-campus thing is only for the summer, because you’re supposed to be taking courses at your home university during the regular school year and you need permission to go to another UC during Fall, Winter, or Spring.
The summer is your own time and UCLA doesn’t really care what you do, so you don’t need permission to take summer courses at another UC. But like 10s4life said, you should check with your UCLA counselor to make sure that the course you want to take at the other UC campus is equivalent to a UCLA course.
