Hello everyone,
International student here. I wanted to ask the forum on as to what credentials the colleges verify about us and how they do it. Will they do this before acceptance or after acceptance. Also, will the counselor be asked about the authenticity of a high school transcript(again, after acceptance) if they themselves attach it and send it via common app?
Please give an answer to these questions.
Thanks

No one can tell you if, how and when universities will verify your materials. But they do. And they rescind acceptances and even degrees if they find out you lied. Realistically, most universities have a fair amount of experience with international applications, they’re knowledgeable about schools in the given country, and are pretty good at spotting possible fraud. If they have ANY doubt about the submitted materials, your application automatically goes into the “reject” pile. They’re not dumb or naive.
