CS College Ideas

Hello,

We are starting to build a college list for my sophomore student. He is interested in majoring in CS with either a game design or cyber security focus. For brainstorming, we are assuming SATs to be around 1350 with around a 3.7 (unweighted) and about 5 APs.

He is looking for an urban environment and would like a more cooperative, supportive environment. Finances not really a factor. East coast is preferred, but open to other areas. A big school with many majors would be good in case he changes his mind.

Right now thinking schools like Rutgers, WPI, Northeastern, UC Boulder, UMD.

Thanks for any ideas!

We toured Drexel last year. Their College of Computing and Informatics has cybersecurity as well as four other majors.

UCF, NC State.

Edit: Virginia Tech, Penn State aren’t urban.

I would suggest Ohio State, University of Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, UM- Twin Cities, and ASU

Thanks for the great ideas!

What is your home state? Oops, I just noticed your screen name. Are you from New York State?

I think that some of the SUNY’s are definitely worth a close look if you are.

Cost constraints?

SUNYs may be relative bargains compared to most out-of-state publics.
