CS+Economics vs Computer Engineering Major

I’m equally interested in applying for CS+Economics and Computer Engineering Major.

I have a 1490 SAT (790 Math + 700 EBRW). I am an International Student.
I have As in IB Physics HL (Predicted 6) and IB Economics HL (Predicted 6). A mix of Bs, B-s, and A-s in IB Math HL but in an upward trend (Predicted 6).
I didn’t take subject tests nor does UIUC ask for them I believe.

On the UIUC site, it says Computer Engineering SAT scores 50 percentile is from 1430 - 1530
For CS+Economics since it is a relatively new major they don’t have anything listed. I’ve heard the CS+X system is easier to get into CS (which has SAT range from 1490 - 1560). Would CS+Economics have a similar SAT range to Computer Engineering or in the middle of the two?

I think I have less strength in Mathematics, so I don’t know if that means CS+Econ is better or Computer Engineering is a better 1st-choice major for me.

I was wondering just based on the SAT scores and number of top-tier applicants applying which is easier to get in (also factoring in my academic and test scores above)? I’m aware those are just 2 components of the admission process, but I would like to know.

Mainly it depends on what you want to do. Do you like STEM more or do you want do combine Computer stuff and Finance related?

Many people apply CE but not many will apply CS+X. If your grades are within the 50% middle of the accepted then you have a good chance for CE. You might have a medium to large chance if you apply CS Econ.

I think UIUC looks at GPA and TEST score the most.
