Have approximately 8 decent ECs.

What are some colleges/universities to apply to for a possible full ride? My parents are not in a bad economic standing, but do not wish to invest over ~$5k a year into my education.

Additionally, what ivy or near ivy league schools would be a good choice for me? Thanks for the help.

It would help if you could elaborate on your ECs, essays, and other subjective parts of the app. At tops schools, those make a big difference. With those stats, you could definitely try applying to some of the most selective schools, like MIT or Stanford, because they give out great financial aid. Of course, those will be a reach for you no matter what your ECs are, but it’s worth a shot. For the Ivy League, I’d suggest Cornell. It has one of the best engineering programs, gives out generous financial aid, and isn’t as competitive as most Ivies or the schools I mentioned earlier.
P.S. All the schools I’ve mentioned will only give out great financial aid if your income is fairly low - they cover 100% of demonstrates needs. For a full list, check out this link [100% Meet Need Colleges | CollegeGreenlight](<a href=“Colleges with Need-Blind Admission for U.S. Students”>Colleges with Need-Blind Admission for U.S. Students). I can’t really help you with colleges that give out merit scholarships, since none of the schools I’m applying to do that. Hopefully, someone else can answer that question.

Thanks, highly appreciate it. For the time being, I have Stanford, RPI, Harvey Mudd, and Carnegie Mellon, along with local probables like IIT.

Again, however, the issue is not low income; parents are simply reluctant to invest in me. To provide a rough income range, it is under $100k, but very close to it. I was thinking about adding in Dartmouth as well, seeing how if accepted, they provide close to a free ride.

Make sure you apply to IIT before December 1 to be considered for the Camras interviews.

Run the Net Price Calculator on each college website. You won’t be able to afford some of those if your parents will only pay 5k. That won’t even pay your room and board. Fortunately there are ample colleges where you can get a good CS or EE degree. Look at your instate. Look at the automatic scholarships sticky at the top of the Financial Aid forum.

P.S. You post belongs on College Search & Selection board, not What are My Chances. You’d get more suggestions over there.
