CS & Finance double major

I'll be graduating in 2011 with a BS having majored in CS and finance. I was wondering which careers offer the highest salary yet make you work the least amount considering my background. I'd just like to get it out there that I'm not a slacker, I work pretty hard but I was wondering what my career options are given the parameters above. Also for the record, I like CS more but don't necessarily want to program all day long and I only majored in finance because everyone else at my school did (yea i know - pretty bad)

Should I first go straight to grad school and refine my expertise in a certain area or should I just get a job then go to grad school? Which option would be right for me taking into account the economic climate once I graduate?

Just go do CS.

You can just pretend your code is compiling while you slack off. Durr.

Besides, finance is not a field that goes easy on you. Especially not if you don’t even like finance.

With CS u should have plenty of opportunities to get an easy job. Oftentimes, your manager won’t know what you are doing anyways, so it is pretty easy to give the perception that you are working hard.

I know a lot of CS guys from various forums. This is because they get on the forums at work and like vector said, the managers think they’re working hard.

In finance, however, “the winners drive home in the dark” meaning you need to put in lots of extra hours to get ahead. The 40 hour workweek is a laughable suggestion to a lot of businessmen and during crunch time, that can easily double. I know it’s not uncommon for someone who goes into investment banking to put in 100 hours per week.
