cs or double up on math

i was wondering if I should take computer science or double up
at my highschool, to take apcs you have to take cs as a prereq.

If you are interested in CS then take the basic class and see how you do. BUT
colleges want to see 4 yrs of MATH on your transcript, as well as great grades.
Dont jeopardize your GPA by taking more or harder AP classes than you can handle.

What math classes would you be taking?

What would your classes be next year?

@awesomepolyglot algebra 2 in freshman
@myoS1634 normal core classes along with like two electives.
@menloparkmom i enjoy cs and I enjoy math, but I just want to double up on math(alg2 and trig) because why not

“because why not”
Both in the same year??
The “why not” is you dont want your GPA to take a hit - AT ALL- because you “bit off more than you could chew” in one year!
That’s why! Your GPA is KEY!!
IF you are NOT taking 2 math classes in the same year then carry on…

@bawbdmo
I took algebra 2 and trig as a freshman but it was set up so that we took accelerated algebra 2 first semester and trig the 2nd semester. Would you be doing something similar or have 2 separate periods?

Yeah, I doubled up on Precalculus (Trig+advanced algebra) and AP Statistics my sophomore year. I was fine.

@menloparkmom im taking two math classes in the same year right now and it’s not that bad.
@LordBendtner 2 separate periods
