Hey guys, I recently received two MSCS offer from Brandeis and Vanderbilt, but I am having trouble deciding which one to go. The Computer Science faculty in both universities is small. The CS ranking in USNews for Vanderbilt is #58 and #91 for Brandeis.The tuition fee is almost the same, but the living expense in Nashville is much lower than in Boston. Since I need to find an internship in the first summer, Boston’s location seems more attractive than Nashville.
I really need help in choosing. Thanks!!!
Vandy is a nationally known school. Brandeis isn’t. Nashville great city. Boston too but Waltham where Brandeis is isnt comparable to Nashville. Simple decision for me.
Don’t you think Waltham is closer to Boston where many tech companies located, while Nashville is in the middle with no proximity to any tech hub. I am an international student, finding an internship might be even harder for me if it is not a local company.
