Is CSF (California Scholarship Federation) and award or an extracurricular for life members?
Also, what about the National Society of High School Scholars?

you should put it down. its an award... except you're not a life member until the second semseter of your senior year...

oh and I have a question:

I got nominated to be in an honor society at a junior college where i've been takign classes since freshman year... I declined to join because there was a 50 dollar membership fee. Should i still put this down as an award?

should i not put life member even though i am almost guaranteed to get it? 4.33 right now.

I didn't put CSF because I received other awards which I thought were more "significant." I do not want to sound arrogant but it is not an amazing accomplishment to qualify for CSF life (at least not among potential UCB students) -- and, if you have a high GPA, putting that down is kind of redundant.

Yes, it is no overwhelming achievement, but I had space so I put it down. It does mean something, and they don't expect the awards in the area of the app for awards to include Nobel prizes (although that'd probably get you in . . . ). :)
