Hi everyone. Have a few questions with the forms that I hope you guys could help me with.
ISFAA:
- Question 22c: Your work - if I do not work as a student, but receive some aids for living allowance from my scholarship in that year, do I list it here?
- Section E (EXPENSES) - Where do I record fuel/petrol/gas expenses? Is it under utilities?
- SECTION F( EXPECTED SUPPORT) - For the following years while I’m in college, what is an appropriate amount to estimate as vacation earnings, since I’m not originally from the States and I suppose the rate I may earn in my home country would not be similar to the ones in the States, assuming vacation earnings would mean the Summer in US.
- SECTION F ( EXPECTED SUPPORT) - As for family income/assets, I understand this really depends on how much we can pay, but if finances are really tough with my family, what should be the least amount I should at least record to not seem like free money is all I want? I do have my government paying some of my fees, just that I feel there wouldn’t be significant amount coming from my family.
- SECTION G (Special Circumstances) - What are the details that are commonly used in this section? Although I have something in mind, I just thought I would ask just in case I don’t miss out on anything.
CSS:
- Child support - **Did the student’s parent(s) pay or expect to pay child support in 2016 or 2017?*. To which parent is this question referred to? Do I assume it’s my non-custodial parent?
- Parent expenses - Again, where would I list expenses for fuel/petrol/gas?
- Student income - We know that I don’t work as a student; do I list my allowance from scholarship here (Income earned from work *) or here (Taxable earnings from need-based work programs and taxable grant and scholarship aid ). I’m having doubts since the aid isn’t exactly “Taxable” to my best knowledge.
Similarly, I hope someone from the States could help me with estimation of figures for the followings, since I’m not very sure the earning potential as a student living(studying) in the United States:
Student’s expected earnings - summer 2018*
Student’s expected earnings - school year 2018-19*
Student’s expected other taxed income - summer 2018*
Student’s expected other taxed income - school year 2018-19*
4) Parent income - If our country has mandatory savings and retirement plan deducted from monthly salary, does that go under Parent Non filer —> Pension, annuity, or retirement benefits ?
5) Student resources - Similar to question 4 for ISFAA.
6)Special circumstances - Select the circumstances with ongoing financial impact that apply to your family. Provide details in the box below. I’m not very clear what this question is asking me to explain. If I check " Scholarship or Sponsorship Information", in what way is it an ongoing financial impact on my family? Am I also to assume that the financial impact could be a positive impact?
Thank you in advanced.
