For most of my schools, I have to complete the CSS Profile. Now, not to blunty exclaim my family’s finances, but my mother receives SSI (Social Security for Disability) and I receive SS Survivor’s Benefits from my fathers death. Our income is less than 20,000 combined. We have no assets, we our renting our current residence. I receive free lunch from my school and no one at my school even knows about the CSS Profile. My sister is in her junior year of college, so I’ll be the second one in school. I have contacted CollegeBoard and received no help, I have reached out to a few schools, only one who responded was Bard, which came back with a generic message as well. Anywho, does anyone have any advice or what I can do, I can not afford to pay to send this profile and desperately need help.
So, what is your question? How to fill it out or where to find some money in order to pay the fee?
Both actually, maybe I’m inputting something incorrectly, but if that is not the case then my alternate question is how to go about finding fee waivers/money to pay for the fee
Send an email to finaidservices@collegeboard.org. If you qualify for free lunch you will qualify for a fee waiver.
Sorry for late reply! But, yes I do get free lunch, just send the email. Thank you!
Yes, if you qualify for free lunch, you can qualify for the fee waiver.
Khan Academy has some great, informative videos posted about the CSS Profile that walk you through the process and see how to fill everything out: https://www.khanacademy.org/college-admissions/paying-for-college/financial-aid-process/a/css-profile-walkthrough
Take like an hour to watch everything and you should understand more.
