<p>If they have Bought the house then own. The value would need to be prorated based on the ownership share and how much is owed.</p>
<p>Will they live in that home? If not, they rent their home and own a separate property. If they share the property, and live in their share, then they own their home. </p>
<p>In either case, their equity is based on the share they own.</p>
